Civic Engagement & Coalition Building
Our staff has more than 30 years experience in civic engagement. We have led dozens of advocacy, public deliberation, and voter engagement campaigns.
By drawing from the vast network we have cultivated in the Kansas City region and beyond, we help organizations create advocacy and voter engagement campaigns, hold community conversations, and host events that advance their mission, inspire volunteers, and tap the strengths of board members.
In addition, we offer Relationships First™, a series of 3-hour workshops that facilitate participants in applying concepts of relational organizing to fully benefit from their civic engagement, advocacy, and fundraising campaigns.
Relationships First™
Relationships First™ is a series of 3-hour workshops created by Thought Partners that introduce you to the key elements of relational organizing–an approach to building networks that are designed to stay together, gain momentum over time, and advance your mission.
The principle that guides the Relationships First™ curriculum is the same one that our CEO Brandi Fisher has followed for 25 years of leading civic engagement campaigns: Community ties and relationships are the lifeblood of successful civic initiatives.
They are the power source that can affect change, especially in under-resourced communities.
